2. LEVERAGE THE GUIDE FOR BIBLE STUDY

Use the CHARA Bible Study Guide as your go-to resource for personal or group Bible study or it can be used as a supplement to your existing Bible study.

BIBLE STUDY IN 3 SIMPLE STEPS

  1. CHOOSE A PASSAGE - Pick any verse, passage, or book to study.

  2. LEVERAGE CHARA - Use the questions and prompts under the CHARA acronym to guide your reading. This is not a checklist. Not every question will be applicable every time.

  3. PERSONALIZE IT - Ask any question, in any order (just save application for last), and feel free to modify questions to adapt to the passage you’re studying. Just note the Key Principles to ensure Biblical accuracy.

GROUP BIBLE STUDY

Do you struggle doing Bible study alone? Join a Bible study group - or start your own - and engage in God’s Word with friends using the CHARA Bible Study Guide!

When we gather together around God’s Word we can expect to gain a community that builds deep friendships, accountability to consistently be in the Bible, and a fresh perspective from a diverse group of people.

As you use this guide to facilitate your group Bible study:

  • Ask the group to read the passage before you meet (preferably more than once).

  • Ask each person to answer a few questions from this guide on their own before they come - whatever stands out to them.

  • As the leader, pick out a handful of questions that will help uncover the passage and guide the conversation. Consider what order of CHARA to discuss them in (it’s okay to bounce around).

  • When gathered together, give others the opportunity to share what they discovered along the way!

Here’s the best part - while using this guide in your Bible study, you’re simultaneously learning how to study the Bible. Before you know it, these tips will become second nature and if you’re like us, your confidence and desire to spend time in God’s Word will soar!
