Day 29: John 21 - Follow Me

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?’ He said to him, ‘Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.’ He said to him, ‘Feed my lambs.’
— John 21:15, ESV

Today’s Reading Passage: John 21

Have you ever been lost?

Whether it was in a shopping mall as a child with no sign of your momma, in woods without a compass, or on a road without a GPS, lost is LOST. It brings on a sense of worry, anxiety, and stress like none other. It brings a sense of hopelessness like none other.

Can you think of a time when you were lost with no hope?

We can go through life aimlessly without direction. We can try different paths but nothing seems right. We can often feel lost in life.

Then Jesus said these comforting words, “Follow me” (John 21:19).

Phew. We don’t have to be lost anymore. We don’t have to wonder where to go.

Like finding your momma in a store. Like having a compass in the woods. Like having your GPS on a roadtrip, Jesus is The Way (John 14:6).

If we love Him. If we believe in Him as our Savior. We don’t have to be lost anymore.

We can find ourselves in Him.

We can find purpose in life in Him.

We can find JOY in life when we follow Him.

What does following Jesus look like for you? How is Jesus the compass or GPS of your life?
